Associated traffic and dust to asthma in children
Researchers say children exposed to traffic pollution outdoors and indoor endotoxin, are at increased risk of asthma.
Endotoxin, a component of the bacteria believed to trigger an immune response in humans, found in the dust.
Researchers at the School of Medicine, University of Cincinnati found persistent wheezing (a warning sign of asthma and other lung problems) in 36 percent of children aged three years who had been exposed to high levels of traffic pollution and endotoxin indoors when they were babies. (more…)
