Having an infection is a fact so common in children that we should regard it as almost normal, although it is not because any infection than normal means has been altered and has appeared a pathological phenomenon but in this case rare. We have all had infections of various types and pass by many more in the future. We have had and will have mild or severe infections, short or long, viral or bacterial infections, children or adults. It is clear that infections are of different types and affect people differently.

That in our body produces an infection requires two assumptions:
A. “That a pathogen enters the human body.
B. “That the human body and allows him to let them live and reproduce for a variable time (a little long, long time or indefinitely).

Just trying to explain in simple these statements contain the keys for understanding what is an infection, why it occurs, why and what causes symptoms lasts the duration.

Which a pathogen enters the human body.
This is the first condition to develop an infection, that someone produced. Bacteria can cause infections and viruses in the highest percentage of cases, but may be fungi, parasites and protozoa, tiny living things that are, overall, the names of microorganisms, germs, microbes or pathogens .

We say they are pathogens

We say we are pathogenic when they can cause an infection in the human body. Of the many germs that are on the face of the earth, but few are able to provoke an infection, only those that are pathogens.

The non-pathogenic.
Those who are unable to produce an infection are called non-pathogenic.

The so-called saprophytes.
Some non-pathogenic microorganisms living peacefully inside the human body and do not cause or provoke any infection. These are called saprophytes.

For example:
Chickenpox or varicella is a disease caused by the varicella virus, a pathogen.

The fungi that affect the milk and yogurt make it not cause us any infection. They are non-pathogenic fungi.

Bacteria living in the intestine does not cause us any infection even though they are inside the body. These bacteria are saprophytic agents.

Both pathogens and non pathogens and saprophytes may be bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites or protozoa.

In other words

In other words, there are pathogenic bacteria, pathogenic bacteria and saprophytic bacteria, pathogenic viruses,non-pathogenic viruses and saprophytes virus , and so on.

The good is transformed into evil
However, the non-pathogenic saprophytes and could cause an infection if the person’s defenses were severely damaged. This is what happens in people suffering from diseases of the defenses in people receiving cancer chemotherapy, and some other specific and unlikely circumstances.

But if defenses
But if the defenses are good, the pathogens do not cause infections. Nor will the saprophytes, which without giving problems they live, breed and die in the mouth, nose, intestine, rectum, anus, vagina, urethra and the skin surface . The overwhelming majority of people have the defenses in good condition with only some small ups and downs, almost always brief, transient and harmless.

To produce infection is necessary for the pathogen enters the body and reproduce. This reproduction can cause symptoms or not depends on the type of pathogen and is already known if the body’s defenses.
